Two Updates in One Post

Today marked another crucial step in my journey towards self-discovery and self-acceptance. I had my scheduled psychologist appointment this week, and this time I brought my Grandmother along for support and to involve her in my ongoing process. As I entered the psychologist's office, I felt a mix of emotions - anxiety, relief, and a need to release pent-up emotions that had been building inside me.

I began by pouring out my thoughts and frustrations, expressing my recent experiences with Instagram. To my dismay, Instagram had unknowingly betrayed my trust by inadvertently revealing personal details to a family member, whose reaction was filled with hate and judgment. It was a deeply hurtful experience that left me feeling vulnerable and misunderstood. However, on the flip side, Instagram had also unintentionally exposed the same information to my close friends, who reacted with understanding and unwavering support. I confided in my psychologist about both instances, emphasizing the emotional toll they had taken on me.

After venting and sharing my experiences, it was time for my Grandmother to have her session with the psychologist. While I sat in the waiting area, a mix of curiosity and anticipation enveloped me. What would they discuss? This question lingered, and I eagerly awaited our next appointment, where we would reconvene with me, my grandparents & psychologist and shed light on the conversation that transpired.

In other news, a momentous occasion took place in my legal journey today. The application for my new gender identity change certificate was approved! Holding that document in my hands was both empowering. It signified a step towards authenticity and validation of my true self. With the certificate in my possession, I now have the means to navigate the legal system and update various legal documents to align with my true identity.

These two updates mark significant milestones in my personal growth, and I wanted to share them with you all. Thank you for being a part of my journey, and until next time, stay tuned for further updates as I continue to explore and embrace my true self.

The purpose of this visit was twofold: to refill my prescription and receive the next crucial injection that propels me forward on this transformative path. Let me take a moment to share the latest developments with you, dear readers.

I am elated to announce that I have completed a full month of HRT, and it has been an incredible experience thus far. It is with great enthusiasm that I inform you that my dosage will be increased, aligning with my ever-evolving goals. This change holds the promise of further enhancing the positive changes and affirming my chosen path.

However, before I embark on this next phase, there are a few important steps to take. I am scheduled to meet with my esteemed endocrinologist in two months' time, where we will discuss the progress and fine-tune my treatment plan. But before that, there is a crucial checkpoint I must pass: a series of comprehensive blood tests to evaluate my hormonal levels and ensure optimal balance and health.

The importance of these tests cannot be understated. They serve as a vital diagnostic tool, allowing my medical team to gauge the efficacy of the treatment and make any necessary adjustments to optimize my well-being. It is a precautionary measure that underscores the commitment to my overall health and ensures that my HRT journey is tailored to my unique needs.

With each passing day, I grow more eager to share the next chapter of my HRT experience with you all. The support and encouragement I receive from this incredible community inspire me to document my progress and reflect on the profound impact this journey has had on my life.

Counselling 2

During my transformative journey, seeking guidance from a psychologist has been instrumental in helping me navigate various aspects of my life. Recently, my psychologist offered valuable advice: to prioritise my education and career just as much as I focus on my personal transition. Additionally, they assured me that they would take the responsibility of explaining and facilitating my family's understanding of my transition. This guidance has been invaluable, and it has opened up new paths to self-discovery and acceptance.

The psychologist's advice to balance education, career, and transition has profoundly impacted my perspective. While transitioning can consume a significant amount of our emotional energy, investing in education and career can provide a stable foundation for personal growth. This balance allows us to nurture our academic and professional aspirations while also embracing our authentic selves.

Education and career pursuits offer more than just academic or financial stability; they provide an opportunity for personal development and self-empowerment. By dedicating myself to learning and professional growth, I've gained a sense of accomplishment and a solid platform from which I can confidently express my identity. It's through education and career advancement that I've discovered the strength and resilience needed to overcome challenges.

One of the most daunting aspects of a transition is helping our loved ones understand and accept our journey. Fortunately, my psychologist has stepped in to alleviate this burden. They have committed to explaining and supporting my family in comprehending my transition. This assistance has allowed me to focus on my own growth and well-being while fostering a smoother path toward family understanding.

Seeking guidance from a psychologist or therapist who specialises in gender identity and transitions has been a game-changer for me. Their expertise, compassion, and unbiased support have been invaluable resources throughout this process. Having a professional who not only understands the emotional complexities but also provides practical advice has made a world of difference in my journey.

By heeding my psychologist's advice to balance education, career, and transition, I have embarked on a remarkable journey of personal growth and self-discovery. Education and career aspirations have become pillars of strength, while professional guidance has been instrumental in facilitating family understanding. It's through this harmonious integration that I've found empowerment, resilience, and a profound sense of purpose. May my experiences inspire and encourage others on their unique paths toward self-acceptance and fulfillments.

Please note that the playlist primarily focuses on male to female transition resources. I apologize for the limited content related to female to male transition at the moment. However, I encourage you to subscribe to the source channel, [TransgenderIndia](https://youtube.com/@TransgenderIndia), where I curated these videos from. They offer valuable information and resources covering a broader range of gender transition topics.

Feel free to explore the playlist and engage with the content that resonates with you. I hope you find these videos helpful on your own journey of self-discovery and transition.

Counselling

Today, I find myself at MS Ramaiah accompanied by my grandfather to meet with the psychologist. While I had hoped to have my grandmother join us, she declined this time. Perhaps she will accompany us for the next appointment. Currently, my grandfather is engaged in conversation with the psychologist, and we eagerly await the outcome of their discussion.

In the meantime, I will take this opportunity to share a series of videos here thorough a YouTube playlist, aimed at providing a deeper understanding of Gender Dysphoria. Even if you already possess some understanding of the condition, these videos can offer valuable insights.

Rest assured, I will provide a comprehensive update once the counseling session concludes, shedding light on the outcomes and any significant developments.

Start of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)

Today marks a significant milestone as I officially begin Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) on my 20th birthday, marking the end of my teenage years.

To start, the treatment consists of an injection aimed at suppressing male hormones, specifically Testosterone. Additionally, I will be taking regular tablets including Vitamin D, Calcium, and Estrogen—the female hormone.

While the tablets maintain a consistent dosage, the injection dosage is expected to increase gradually over time. The goal is to fully suppress Testosterone, ensuring it no longer becomes the dominant hormone in my body.

Rest assured, I will keep you informed of any future updates.

Affidavit submitted awaiting update

Legal Update

In my previous update, I shared the exciting news of obtaining my clearance to begin Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Today, I took another significant step by creating an Affidavit and having it properly notarised.

To proceed with the legal process of changing my gender on official documents, I have submitted the notarised Affidavit online through the Government of India portal to the District Magistrate, also known as the Collector or Deputy Commissioner.

In order to expedite the process, I plan to schedule an appointment with the District Magistrate next week. By doing so, I hope to obtain my revised ID card, which will accurately reflect my gender identity.

If everything goes according to plan and I receive the updated ID card before my upcoming birthday soon, it would be an incredibly meaningful gift from the Government, symbolising their recognition of my true gender identity.

I will keep you all informed of any further developments in this legal process. Stay tuned for more updates!

My first legal step to change my gender officially

Today, I had an important appointment with my psychiatrist, and I am thrilled to share some great news. I have obtained my psychiatric clearance to commence Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). With the official clearance letter in hand, I am now able to visit the endocrinologist at any time and begin my transition journey.

However, before embarking on HRT, I have initiated the legal process to change my gender on my government-issued identity documents. As part of this process, I am required to obtain a notarized affidavit stating my intention to change my gender. Once I submit this affidavit to the government, they will update my gender in the system and issue revised identity documents reflecting my correct gender.

I am excited to share further updates soon regarding the progress of my legal process and medical journey. Stay tuned for the next update!

Understanding the Standards of care for Trans- Health with WPATH

In the realm of specialised medical care for transgender individuals, professionals who focus on these cases may be referred to as Trans health or transgender health specialists, even if they already have a specific field of expertise such as Psychiatry, Endocrinology, Surgery, Psychology, and so on.

These doctors who provide treatment for anything related to Trans health typically adhere to the guidelines established by the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). These guidelines serve as the standard for medical professionals in India and cover various aspects related to gender.

First Post

Hi there,

Welcome to my blog, the place where you can connect with the real me easily. I created this platform to share my journey and experiences with those who truly know and understand me.

Now, who is the real me? While it's true that I was born male, I have never truly felt like one, and I don't identify as male. From a psychological, social, and personal standpoint, I am a girl.

Recently, I sought medical assistance for severe headaches that persisted even with medication. After visiting NIMHANS in 2022, I consulted with an ophthalmologist who identified vision problems but couldn't explain the headaches. A brain scan conducted by a neuro radiologist showed no abnormalities. It was during my visit to a psychiatrist that I discovered I have gender dysphoria, which explained the stress I had been experiencing for so long. To address this, I underwent counseling at NIMHANS with a psychologist. However, due to the distance and limited services available, I decided to seek further help from a specialist.

I then visited a psychiatrist at MS Ramaiah who specializes in transgender health and had an insightful conversation about my journey. To proceed, I consulted an endocrinologist specializing in transgender health, who conducted some tests and cleared me for Hormone Replacement Therapy. Now, I'm in the process of obtaining a gender dysphoria certificate from the psychiatrist, which will allow me to begin hormone replacement therapy. Currently, I'm undergoing counseling once again and aiming to start hormone replacement therapy before my birthday this year.

In essence, I am a girl trapped in a boy's body, dealing with gender dysphoria. However, I'm optimistic about transitioning from dysphoria to gender euphoria. Soon, I'll embark on hormone replacement therapy, marking a significant step forward in my journey.

Stay tuned for future updates as I continue to share my progress.

Thank you for joining me on this transformative journey, and I look forward to sharing more updates and insights with you in the future.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if there's anything specific you'd like to know about my experience and journey. I'm here to provide support and share insights. Thank you for your interest and engagement!
